You burst forth from the cold nothingness of between on the back of the green dragon, Granath. You relax your grip on the rider as the green soars lazily down to the weyr bowl. You look around and see cool forest all around. It is early morning, and the light, misty fog is just beginning to clear. Granath makes a final swoop over the bowl before landing gently on the grass. Exhausted, you clamber down the fighting straps as the green lowers itself so you can get down more easily. The rider waves and the dragon takes off again, completely disappearing as it goes between.
You watch as they leave and head through the mist of the weyr bowl. You hear a swooping sound as a firelizard of golden nues dives down upon you with talons out-stretched.
"Meliane, halt!" A strong, confident female voice cuts through the gray mist and the Firelizard obediently swerves to the right. You had ducked to avoid the fury of the firelizard, but it doesn't make another pass so you stand. The firelizard, Meliane obviously, instead lands on the shoulder of a red-haired woman with green eyes, who looks to be about 16 turns. She briskly walks to you with a confident aire and smiles brightly. "Sorry she attacked you. She's still learning not to attack visitors; she has improved quite abit though. I am Dracunna of Guard-Rock weyr, and rider of green Esynarth.
Under the womans gaze, you feel nervous and twitchy because of her competent and confident personality, but she also has a kind of calm and your nervous spell passes.
"Why do they call it Guard-Rock?" You ask, curious because of the strange name.
"We call it Guard-Rock because of that mountain over there." She points to a mountain behind you, which has a striking resemblance to a watch dragon guarding a weyr. You nod in understanding and turn back to her. The woman beams with pride and takes you off to the guest wing in the weyr. You pass by a dragon's weyr, a hatchling green sleeping lazily in the large entrance. Dracunna stops briefly for a moment and just stares at the dragon. It slowly opens it's eyes and looks at Dracunna. "This," Dracunna says as she points to the dragon, the size of a large runner, "is Esynarth, my bond-mate." The dragon blinks at you before going back to sleep. You look back at Dracunna and see that she is already heading to the main weyr. "Come on, unless you want to stay out here!" Dracunna looks back and smiles at you.
